‘HIGH DIMENSION CREATURES’
I set up the imagination world in the future, as humans evolve, they will live on a planet with only sea with no land. I hope to present this form that does not currently exist on the real evolutionary line to the audience in a visual way similar to scientific research, so that the audience will tend to trust this possible evolutionary branch in the future, and thus guide the audience to think and reflect on the possibility of human future and the relationship between humans and nature. The final outcome is a science fiction illustration series, which can present the rationality of the combination of organisms and humans in a more intuitive and scientific way. On the basis of maintaining the human form, I emphasize how the organs and appearance of sea creatures will affect the body shape and appearance of human being.
‘FUNERALS IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES’
The topic of this project is about funeral customs in different countries. After watching a documentary film on funeral customs, I then learnt that the reason why the funeral industry is so prevalent is because most human beings towards the end of their lives think about what kind of new place they will go to live in after death, and in order to live a better life, they need to clean up or get rid of the physical body of their present self, so as to meet the future world with a new attitude. I hope to express through this theme that funeral culture is based on respect and compassion for life in different cultural contexts.
